| I recently acquired a 94 TT 5spd. The tail end of the trans and surrounding under body is covered in what appears to be transmission fluid, the visible front half of the trans from below is dry. I had a shop take a look as to me it appeared to be coming from the sensors on the passenger side. After looking over the exploded diagram for the trans case, and since the leak appears to be originating from the top back of the trans the only gasket I see is that square plate area where the shifter goes into the trans. But I am not sure if that "access plate" is subjected to transmission fluid? Also I was searching/read about trans leaks here and someone mentioned it could be power steering fluid? The previous owner did have the PS pump replaced and someone overfilled it, leaking onto my Alt. Can it really run that far back?
